Come paddle with us!

There’s many ways you can become involved with Chelsea Kayak Club

Sea Trips

Love the crystal clear waters off the west coast of Scotland? Prefer some technical paddling in Anglesy? Take a look at our sea trips page

Thames Sessions

Come join us at Kew Bridge every Thursday and the occasional Tuesday for a paddle on the Thames!

Paddler Progression

As paddlers we’re always learning. We regularly organise training as a club to progress our skills.

CKC is London’s friendly sea kayaking club!

We are based at Brentford Boating Arch in Kew Bridge(link to location map).

The club paddles on the Thames from Kew Bridge on Tuesday and Thursday evenings(???), usually at 7pm (potentially followed by a stop for a drink at a local pub).

We also offer special weekday paddles, weekends on the sea, social events and training courses. We keep members updated by email, and have a calendar of events here.

Each event specifies a ‘grade’, so you can select one suitable for your level of experience, fitness and desire for adventure!

COVID-19 Special Protocols can be found here.

Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18 who is able to swim 50m in light clothing. The tides on the Thames mean a little experience is needed before members can join our Thames sessions, but we also organise beginner sessions throughout the year to get you started!

If you’re new to kayaking please refer to the FAQs page for more information.

The Club is governed by a Constitution to ensure fair practice and treatment for all members and is affiliated to British Canoeing and is a Specialist Provider as part of the British Canoeing Go Paddling initiative.
